A Framework for Collaborative Application Development

Client: SRMIST, School of Computing

Focus: Application Modernization · Collaboration · Software Engineering · AI-Assisted · Observability · Analytics

Challenge

Government, public-sector, education, and enterprise organizations increasingly need collaborative applications, yet many repeatedly build common capabilities from scratch.

Solution

AutonomicSoft Solutions, LLC is developing a reusable foundation that could accelerate application development while supporting modern scalability, security, maintainability, and software engineering practices.

Action

AutonomicSoft Solutions, LLC is developing an open-platform collaboration application framework with reusable capabilities including user authentication, profiles, roles, groups, messaging, notifications, calendars, events, surveys/polls, data collection, and analytics. The foundation incorporates modularity, reusability, automation, verification, security, observability, and scalable deployment.

Outcome
1 extensible collaboration framework, 10+ reusable building blocks
0 setup time spent on foundational software engineering techniques
AI-assisted development technology selection, design patterns, observability, verification
Significant cost savings from AI-assisted development integration

Ticketing System Performance & Scalability

Client: Mitchell Martin, Inc. (MMI) [end customer is Shubert Organization]

Technology: .NET | SQL Server | IBM MQ | AppDynamics | Splunk | ELK

Challenge

The customer's ticketing platform faced performance and scaling challenges across its .NET application, SQL Server database, and IBM MQ backend services. Limited end-to-end visibility made it difficult to identify and resolve underlying bottlenecks.

Solution

AutonomicSoft Solutions, LLC conducted a comprehensive performance assessment to identify applications, databases, and messaging bottlenecks. Implemented AppDynamics, Splunk, and ELK to provide application performance monitoring, centralized logging, system visibility, and data-driven root-cause analysis. Targeted performance tuning and remediation improved system stability, reliability, uptime, and capacity to handle increased demand.

Outcome
Established end-to-end visibility by instrumenting 100% of problem areas
Established MTTR & MTTFD to 25 mins & 3 days respectively
Improved stability & reliability by fixing 100% of major errors and performance issues
Improved operational resilience by increasing uptime to 99%
Improved scalability by ~5x

Monitoring & Capacity Management of Telecom Customer Experience Analytics

Client: American CyberSystems, Inc. (“ACI”) [End customer is Verizon]

Focus: Observability · Capacity Management · Distributed Systems · Anomaly Detection · Reliability

Challenge

A large telecom's petabyte-scale customer experience analytics platform, built on “GLASSBOX”, was experiencing capacity-related slowdowns and unresponsive behavior. As an internal, business-critical system without a clear escalation path, uptime was only about 60%.

Solution

Identify the underlying capacity and distributed-system issues, establish proactive monitoring, and provide timely software and operational remedies to improve reliability and control infrastructure costs.

Action

AutonomicSoft Solutions, LLC identified uneven data distribution across the distributed storage infrastructure as a key contributor to analytics performance degradation. Database and storage metrics from the underlying Cassandra and Elasticsearch infrastructure were periodically collected and ingested into New Relic. We monitored metric behavior across horizontal nodes for deviations, enabling automated anomaly detection and timely software fixes and operational remediation.

Outcome
< 3% resource overhead from infrastructure instrumentation
100% early detection of known issues through anomaly detection
0 uptime issues attributed to uneven data distribution after remediation
Uptime improved from approximately 60% to 99%
70% unnecessary storage costs eliminated

Customer System Performance & Reliability

Client: Mitchell Martin, Inc. [End customer is Shubert Organization]

Focus: Performance Engineering · Observability · Reliability · Operational Resilience

Challenge

A known systemic issue in underlying vendor software was causing resource leakage and recurring performance degradation in a high-volume ticketing platform. While the vendor worked on a long-term fix, the organization faced significant operational and financial exposure and needed an immediate workaround.

Solution

AutonomicSoft Solutions, LLC implemented a multi-pronged approach combining:

Real-time monitoring and anomaly detection using SolarWinds, Catchpoint, Cisco AppDynamics, and Cisco ThousandEyes
Queuing and throughput controls to cap concurrent ticket-buying sessions and prevent resource exhaustion
AI-assisted operational alerting to accelerate detection and response
Systems integration and observability to provide actionable visibility across the environment
Outcome
< 3 sec customer-facing response times
< 10 sec detection of emerging performance issues
< 5 min operational response and stabilization
Controlled system throughput during demand peaks
Avoided recurring performance-related business disruption
Delivered with a small incremental investment in observability and systems integration

Computing Curriculum Modernization & Workforce Readiness

Client: SRMIST — College of Computing

Focus: Curriculum Modernization · AI/ML · Software Engineering · Workforce Readiness

Challenge

Rapid advances in AI/ML, special-purpose computing, RISC-V, quantum computing, and emerging neuromorphic and photonic computing are transforming software development, engineering practices, and technology careers. The institution sought to adapt to reduce the gap between traditional academic curricula and evolving industry expectations.

Solution

AutonomicSoft Solutions, LLC developed a forward-looking approach to modernize what is taught, how it is taught, and how learning is assessed, with emphasis on:

Industry-relevant software development and engineering practices (ex., emphasis on Rust, Python, TypeScript, Agile, etc.)
AI-assisted development and emerging computing technologies
Hands-on, project-based and experiential learning
Modern development, testing, automation, and delivery practices
Competency- and outcome-oriented assessment
Continuous curriculum alignment with evolving industry needs
Outcome
